The Power of Knowledge — Allah Knows All
All praise is due to Allah, the All-Knowing, the All-Seeing, the Most Wise. He knows what is in the hearts, what is hidden in the depths of the earth, and what lies beyond the stars. We testify that there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad ﷺ is His servant and final Messenger.
Dear brothers and sisters,
Today’s khutbah is about one of the most awe-inspiring and humbling truths of our faith — Allah’s perfect and infinite knowledge. The world around us is full of mystery, but to Allah, there are no secrets. No shadow can hide, no whisper can escape, no future is unknown to Him.
He is Al-‘Aleem — The All-Knowing.
Allah’s Knowledge Has No Limits
As human beings, our knowledge is small. We learn by seeing, by hearing, by studying. And even then, we forget, we make mistakes, and we don’t understand everything.
But Allah’s knowledge is not like ours. It is complete. It is perfect. It has no beginning and no end.
“And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. And He knows what is on the land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls but that He knows it…”
(Surah Al-An’am 6:59)
Just pause and reflect: Not a single leaf falls, anywhere in the world, except that Allah knows it — when it falls, how it falls, where it lands, and how long it will stay there.
This is not just power — it is intimacy, care, and control.
He Knows What You Think and What You Feel
Allah’s knowledge is not only about the universe — He also knows you.
He knows your hopes. Your fears. Your dreams. The thoughts you hide. The emotions you can’t explain. The tears you cry in secret.
“Indeed, Allah knows the unseen of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is Seeing of what you do.”
(Surah Al-Hujurat 49:18)
When you are alone in your room and no one sees you — Allah sees you. When you struggle with sadness, and no one understands — Allah understands. When you do something good, and no one thanks you — Allah rewards you.
This knowledge should comfort us and also humble us.
The Past, the Present, and the Future — All Known to Allah
We often worry about the future: Will I succeed? Will I be safe? What will happen to my family?
But to Allah, the future is not unknown. He knows every second that will happen — until the Day of Judgment and beyond.
“…Nor do they encompass anything of His knowledge except what He wills.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255 — Ayat al-Kursi)
The past that you regret, the present you live in, and the future that you fear — Allah knows it all, and He has written it in Al-Lawh Al-Mahfuz — the Preserved Tablet.
This should bring us peace. If Allah already knows, and He is Wise and Merciful, then we can trust His plan, even when we don’t understand it.
Knowledge and Wisdom: Allah Does Everything With Purpose
Allah’s knowledge is tied to His wisdom. He doesn’t just know — He knows what is best.
We may not understand why something happens — why a job is lost, why a door is closed, why a person leaves. But Allah does.
“…And perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah knows, while you know not.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:216)
This verse is a gift to every heart that feels confused. Trust Allah. His knowledge sees beyond what our eyes can.
Even the Unspoken is Known
How often do we want to say something — a dua, a feeling, a need — but we can’t find the words?
Even that unspoken voice inside you is known to Allah.
“Whether you speak aloud or not, indeed, He is Knowing of what is within the breasts.”
(Surah Al-Mulk 67:13)
This is one of the most beautiful aspects of our faith. You do not need to speak perfectly for Allah to hear you. You just need to turn your heart toward Him. He knows the language of the soul.

The Comfort and Warning of Allah’s Knowledge
Allah’s knowledge brings us two things:
- Comfort – When we feel alone, misunderstood, or broken.
- Warning – When we forget that nothing is hidden from Him.
If you feel nobody understands your pain, remember — Allah does.
If you’re tempted to sin, thinking nobody sees — remember — Allah does.
“Indeed, nothing is hidden from Allah in the earth or in the heaven.”
(Surah Aal-Imran 3:5)
Let the knowledge of Allah keep us sincere, keep us hopeful, and keep us on the straight path.
Our Knowledge is a Gift — Use It Well
Allah gave us a small portion of knowledge. What we do with it is a test.
“And He taught Adam the names — all of them.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:31)
We are the only creation Allah gave such knowledge. With it, we can build, learn, teach, and grow.
But knowledge is not for arrogance — it’s for serving Allah and benefiting others.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever follows a path in pursuit of knowledge, Allah will make the path to Paradise easy for him.”
(Muslim)
So let’s seek knowledge, not for fame, but for faith.
Conclusion: Allah Knows, So We Trust
Dear brothers and sisters,
To believe that Allah knows all is to live with trust, peace, and purpose. He knows your story from beginning to end. He sees every effort, hears every dua, and never forgets any act of goodness.
Let us live with sincerity, knowing our Creator is aware of everything. Let us make du’a with confidence, knowing He hears. And let us walk humbly, knowing that our knowledge is limited — but His is infinite.
“And your Lord is not unaware of what you do.”
(Surah Hud 11:123)
May Allah fill our hearts with humility, guide our minds to beneficial knowledge, and make us among those who live by His wisdom and trust in His plan.
Ameen.
